NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. ——当前 Penn State 新肯辛顿 students are invited to register for the annual Research and Student Engagement Expo scheduled for April 7. 学生 will be able to see and present research projects and meet with business and industry leaders about internship and job opportunities.
Before the expo begins, students also will be able to take part in a "Pizza with Professionals" luncheon to enjoy a complimentary lunch and network with employers and guests on campus for the event.
Undergraduate Research
学生 are encouraged to seek out 教师 members as mentors to work on a research project related to topics that interest them. Projects willthen presented at the expo to fellow students, campus 教师 and staff, local business leaders, and members of the community. 在过去, projects have come from many different disciplines and have included creative works, scientific experiments, engineering designs, 想法的原型, social innovation endeavors, 还有更多. 学生 can view the 2019 event program to see the diversity and creativity of past projects.
学生 interested in pursuing a project should speak with 教师 members to explore their ideas and visit the campus' Undergraduate Research webpage.
Registration for the 18th annual event, which is required, is open until Jan. 31.
Pizza with Professionals and Career Connections Day
从上午11:30开始.m. 到12:20分.m., students participating in the Research and Engagement Expo can enjoy a complimentary lunch during "Pizza with Professionals" in the Conference Center. 学生 will have the chance to meet and network with the employers and guests on campus that day for the event.
Running concurrent to the expo starting at 12:30 p.m. is the annual Career Connections Day fair in the Athletic Center. Employers and local organizations will be on hand to speak with students about careers, internships and other opportunities.

More than 50 Penn State 新肯辛顿 students presented their research and projects at the 17th Annual Research and Creative Exposition held at the campus on April 9, 2019. Research topics included such subjects as automation, 乳房x光检查, 心理健康, 聚合物, information recall and biomedical engineering technology. Each student or student team was mentored by 教师 advisers, who offered guidance throughout the process. Eight students also were awarded with an Undergraduate Research Award: Excellence in Information Literacy prize. In conjunction with the expo, the 11th Annual Career Connections Day gave students the opportunity to meet with nearly 20 regional organizations who were able to provide networking, internship and job-related information and opportunities.
